60 films to screen at 1st Kohima International Film Festival

Kohima, Dec 1 (UNI) Altogether 60 films, including documentary, short and animation films, will be screened at the first Kohima International Film Festival to be held here at the State Academy Hall from December two to six.

This coincides with the Hornbill Festival, showcasing the rich cultural, economical and social life of Nagaland, which begins today.

According to official sources the festival will be inaugurated by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio tomorrow, The film festival is being organised by the Film Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, with active participation of Department of Tourism, Department of Art and Culture and Department of Information and Public Relation of Government of Nagaland, Doordarshan and Media Units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting like Press Information Bureau and DAVP.

The Film Division, apart from making films on various subjects across the country, has contributed immensely for the promotion of Documentary, Short and Animation films through its biennial Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) and has attracted the best documentary, short fiction and animation films from across the world.
