Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Indian Police Service (IPS) Association today announced to keep itself away from the issue of suspension of senior IPS officer B K Bhalla for suggesting to send Indian troops inside PoK to dismanter terrorist training camps.

His attack on Imarat-e-Sharia, a madrasa in Phulwari Sharif in Bihar was also reacted on by Muslim organisations who wanted action against Mr Bhalla for unsavoury comments.

Mr Bhalla, an 1974 batch officer presently posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Railways and Telecommunications, was suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government last night for his alleged comments on the Indian Foreign policy and terrorism in his presentation during the police week.

Mr V K B Nair, the Commandant General of UP Home Guards, also the President of UP IPS Association said the association had already decided to take up collective issues. ''It is an indiviual case hence the involvement of the association is ruled out,'' he told UNI here.

Refusing to go into details of the suspension and the reasons behind it, Mr Nair said it was purely an administrative decision of the government and the association had no role to play. ''We, as an association, are not here to take up individual cases, but issues related to welfare of the force and its service conditions are liable to be on its agenda,'' he said.

The suspended ADG had reportedly made some comments with regards to situations like Kargil war and some aspects of anti-terroism policies, which the government found to be in violation of service conduct rules. Mr Bhalla made reported remarks during a meeting of senior police officials here on November 24.
