Trainer Mangalorkar fined and Jockey Appu suspension revoked

Bangalore, Nov30 (UNI) Trainer Mangalorkar was fined Rs 10,000 by the Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) Stewards for his negligence in accepting horse 'Ravininski' in Bellary Plate (Div-II) on November 24, when the said horse was under veterinary treatment and permitted to be withdrawn from the race.

The Stewards fined Jockey K P G Appu rider of 'Al Qamar' in the Royal Calcutta Turf Club race (Mysore) by revoking the order of suspension of his jockey's licence. However, imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him for injudicious riding on his mount. Earlier, the Mysore Race Club had suspended Appu's licence from November 26 to December Eight, 2006, according to a release from BTC here today.

The stewards also fined Jockey M A Gallagher Rs 5,000 for violation of calendar notification pertaining to acceptance of rides by a foreign rider on a single race day.

Jockey B Prakash rider of 'Real Excellence' and Jockey Colm O'Donoghue rider of 'Star Luminary' was fined Rs 3,000 each for the excesive use of the whip on Bangalore 1000 Guiness (Grade-II) race.

Jockey C Krishnan was also fined Rs 3,000 in Rajyotsava Cup, for coming 'in' and causing severe interference in the race.
