Rajasthan Tent Dealers Samiti threatens agitation over VAT

Jaipur, Nov 30 (UNI) Rajasthan Tent Dealers Association has threatened a strike on December 23 if the government does not take a decsion in favour of them on the VAT.

Addressing a press conference here today Mr Hemraj Gupta president of the assocation on said the tent dealers were service providers and doesnot come under the purview of the VAT.

He said if the VAT was not withdrawn the 25 per cent tax regime with 12.24 percent service tax and 12.5 per cent VAT would break the back bone of the Tent dealers in the state.

He said if the government does not take a decsion in their favour they would be forced to take to the street.

The association's secretary Ravi Jindal pointed out that VAT commissioner of Delhi has withdrawn the VAT on tent dealers.
