Pay Rs 53,000 to a J

Srinagar, Nov 30 (UNI) The Divisional Consumer Protection Forum (DCPF) here has directed the Jet Airways to pay Rs 53,000 to Professor Abdul Wahid, Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University.

A spokesman for the DCPF said that Professor Wahid had lodged a complaint in the forum against Jet Airways that the Airlines refused to provide him a seat in the Srinagar-Jammu flight despite having a valid ticket.

He had further said he suffered mental agony after he was humiliated by the Airways officials despite having confirmed ticket.

The District and Sessions judge and other members of the forum after hearing arguments ordered the Airlines to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation and additional Rs 3000 as litigation charges within four months to Prof Wahid.

In the ruling, the forum said that Prof Wahid had suffered at the hands of the Airlines officials.
