Jalandhar, Nov 30 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati today condemned the UPA government at the Centre and Congress government in Punjab for alleged disrespect shown towards late BSP founder Kanshi Ram on his death in October this year.

Speaking at the BSP rally at Tajpur-Bhagwanpura on the outskirts of the city today, Ms Mayawati said while paying tributes to the departed leader, political leaders and dignitaries from across the party lines described Kanshi Ram as a great Dalit leader, the UPA Government at the Centre had not declared even state mourning as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Ms Mayawati said in Punjab, which happened to be the native state of Kanshi Ram, the Congress-led state government declared only half-a-day state holiday which was insufficient.
