''Killing of civilians unacceptable'': Mirwaiz Hurriyat

Srinagar, Nov 30 (UNI) The moderate Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today condemned all forms of violence and said killing of civilians was unacceptable to the separatist amalgam.

''Killing of civilians is not acceptable to us. Whoever is involved in killing of civilians we will go against him,'' senior Hurriyat leader Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat told journalists after an emergency meeting of the amalgam here.

He said whosoever involved in the killings -- be it the security forces or the ''boys with guns'' (militants) -- the Hurriyat Conference will not spare them. ''We will tell them that this is bad and not acceptable to us,'' the former Hurriyat chairman added.

The Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat Conference also condemned in the strongest terms the ''dastardly'' attack on Dr Shameema Badroo, the wife of slain Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander (operations) Abdul Majid Dar. ''It is not human to attack a woman...absolutely inhuman,'' Prof Bhat said.
