India's medal hopes bright in Doha games: Mahesh Bhupathi
Kochi, Nov 30 (UNI) Exuding confidence, tennis ACE Mahesh Bhupathi today said India's medal hopes in tennis were bright at the Asian Games in Doha.
Addressing media here, Bhupathi said India, with a strong tennis contingent comprising Leander Paes, Rohan Bopanna, Sania Mirza, Uberoi sisters and him had a bright chance of tasting success.
The games would witness the return of the Paes-Bhupathi pair in the doubles.
On Sania Mirza's poor form this year, Bhupathi said 'every player can have a lean patch in their career and presently Sania is working hard under a new physical trainer from South Africa'.
He hoped she would scale greater heights in world tennis in the coming year.
The ace player expressed satisfaction at the progress of the Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy (MBTA), which was associated with the Regional Sports Centre here.
He said infrastructure was good and the wards were on the right track of progress. The academy was in the process of appointing a head coach.
