India lose to China 0-3, crash out of team event
Doha, Nov 29 (UNI) Indian men paddlers team crashed out of contention as they suffered their second successive defeat going down to formidable China 0-3 in the Table Tennis competition of the Asian Games here tonight.
India had lost to Japan by an identical 0-3 margin in the morning and with these two loses they failed to qualify for the knock out stage as only two top teams from each group will make it to that stage.
India now play Yemen in their last but inconsequential league match.
The Chinese proved too hot for the Indians who must have realised the difference of class between the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games by now.
The Chinese out played them in all departments of the game and the tone was set by Ma Long who accounted for India's best bet Achanta Sharath Kamal.
Long downed commonwealth gold medal winner 11-2,11-9,12-10.
MA Lin made it 2-0 for his country as he overpowered Subhajit Saha in four games. The Indian flattered to deceive winning the first game, Lin rallied forcefully to claim the next three games to clinch the issue. The Chinese won 3-11,11-4,13-11,11- Chen Qi completed the tally routing Soumyadeep Roy 11-8,11-6, 11-9.
Earlier today, Indian men's team started their campaign on a disastrous note losing 1-3 to Japan in the Group 'A' league match of the Table Tennis competition in the Asian Games.
