Govt tables Sachar Committee Report in LS/RS

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The Government today tabled the Sachar Committee Report on the Social, Economic and Educational status of Muslims in India in Parliament.

The report was tabled by Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay in the Lok Sabha.

In the Rajya Sabha, the BJP members protested when Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri laid the report on the table. They alleged that the report had already been leaked to the media.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj pointed out that excerpts of the Report had already been published and the 14th instalment was in today's newspaper.

Ms Swaraj said that earlier the report was slated to be tabled in the House on November 27 but due to the absence of its Hindi version, it was delayed till today. ''However, even, now the report is tabled without the Hindi version,'' she added.

She also claimed that Parliament propriety had been clearly violated in this case.
