Cabinet approves new pacts with Jordan
New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement between India and Jordan.
The decision will increase investments between the two countries, said finance minister P Chidambaram.
The agreement will be in force for 10 years. So far, India has signed such pacts with 61 countries.
The cabinet also approved signing of an agreement for cooperation in the field of tourism with Jordan.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on agriculture will promote bilateral cooperation through exchange of scientific delegations and experts.
The MoU will remain in force for five years and will be automatically renewed for further five years.
