Bhojpuri star Nagma in Marathi film

Mumbai, Nov 30 (UNI) Bhojpuri star Nagma is all set to explore Marathi cinema by playing the lead in 'Thamb Laxmi Thamb'.

Talking to reporters, Nagma, who made her debut opposite Salman Khan in 'Baghi' in 1991 and then shifted base to Tamil and later Bhojpuri movies, said she was overwhelmed to be part of the fast- paced and rapidly growing Marathi film industry.

She said the movie was a family entertainer which would hugely appeal to the masses in interiors of Maharashtra.

The first shooting schedule is in progress at different locations in Mubai. The film is produced by Reema's Creations and is being presented by Hari Om Sharma.

This is her first venture in Marathi film industry as she said, ''I have always wanted to experiment with challenging roles.

The script of 'Tham Laxmi Thamb' sounded very good. Also working for regional film is a fabulous experience''.

In this film, Nagma will play the title lead role of Goddess 'Laxmi' and appear in the divine as well as human form. The film is directed by debutant director Vicky Kharat.

The film has story, screenplay, dialogues by Rajeev Ranjan, lyrics and music by Neela Satyanarayan, cinematography by R R Prince, art by Anand Shinde, choreography by Agnes Ronny, sound by Lalankumar.

Santosh More is the production chief of the film.

Among other filmstars include Dr Vilas Ujawane, Anand Abhyankar, Smita Oak, Purnima Singh, Asha Sathye, Dr Pramod Ambalkar, Ajay Suryavanshi Anjali Ujawane, Jyoti Pathak in the film.

The film has guest appearances by Ramesh Bhatkar, Rajiv Shreshtha and Jayawant Wadkar.
