Battery cars for disabled in Chennai Station

Chennai, Nov 30 (UNI) After ramps, it is battery operated cars for the use of physically-challenged people.

For the first time in the country, Southern Railway would introduce battery operated cars at the Chennai station here for the use of physically challenged passengers.

On reaching the station, these passengers would be taken in the special cars and helped to board the trains, Railway sources said here.

Southern Railway General Manager Thomas Varghese would launch the battery operated car facility as a trial measure tomorrow, the sources said.
