Abhay Chautala's HOA invites Hooda to inaugurate state games

Chandigarh, Nov 30 (UNI) Maintaining the tradition of inviting the Chief Minister and the state Governor, Abhay Singh Chautala group of Haryana Olympic Association has invited Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Mr A R Kidwai for the opening and closing ceremonies of the State Games to be held at Sirsa from December 28 to 30.

HOA president Abhay Chautala today extended a formal invitation to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Governor A R Kidwai to be the chief guests on the opening and closing ceremonies respectively.

HOA Director H S Bhadu said competitions would be held in athletics, archery, boxing, kabaddi (national as well as Haryana style), volleyball, hockey, cycling, weightlifting, tug-of-war, kho-kho, football, rifle shooting, table tennis, wrestling, shootingball, basketball, badminton, throwball, karate, handball and tennis.

About 3500 sportspersons (men and women), technical officials, coaches/managers are expected to take part in the state games.

The Haryana contingent for the National Games to be held in Guwahati from February 9 to 18, next year, will be selected at Sirsa.

It may be recalled that the officially-backed Naveen Jindal group had recently conducted the State Games at Kurukshetra.
