Kerala girls defeat Haryana for gold in volleyball
Ferozepur, Nov 29 (UNI) Kerala girls defeated Haryana 18-25, 25-24, 25-19 and 25-11 to clinch the volleyball gold in the first National Inter-Schools Champions Games at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium here today.
Tamil Nadu claimed bronze after beating Punjab in straight sets 25-23, 25-19 and 25-8.
Tamil Nadu lifted the boys gold in weightlifting with a points tally of 14 points. Punjab got the silver with 13 points and Maharashtra will take home the bronze medal with 10 points.
However, Maharashtra girls emerged winners as they collected 29 points for the team trophy in weightlifting. Punjab bagged the silver with 14 points whereas Tamil Nadu got bronze with 10 points.
Haryana wrestlers won the boys team championship with 70 points followed by Maharashtra with 68 points and Punjab in the third place with 65 points.
Maharastra girls annexed the wrestling team championship with 69 points. Punjab finished runners-up with 65 points and Mizorm came in third with 56 points.
