JK govt suspends former superintendent of Kot Bhalwal Jail
Jammu, Nov 29 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended the superintendent of high security Kot Bhalwal Jail, who was beaten by Pakistani terrorists within the jail premises recently, for his alleged 'misconduct and de-reliction of duty'.
An order, placing Sheikh Abdul Rashid under suspension for his alleged 'misconduct and de-reliction of duty', was issued yesterday by the Home Ministry. Mr Rashid was posted as officiating Superintendent of Kot Bhalwal Jail after his predecessor went on leave.
During Rashid's two-week tenure, two mobile phones were recovered from the jail as also two incidents of clash between Indian and Pakistani militants took place on the jail premises.
Mr Rashid was replaced last week, but he was not happy with the Home Ministry's order. Last week, a show cause notice was served on him aksing him to reply within seven days.
