Haryana govt disburses Rs 1329 crore to paddy farmers

Chandigarh, Nov 29 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a sum of about Rs 1329 crore to the farmers for purchase of 20.43 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the current kharif marketing season so far.

While giving this information, here today Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said Hafed had purchased 9.02 lakh MTs of paddy and made a payment of Rs 586.34 crore followed by Food and Supplies Department which had made a payment of about Rs 395 crore for the purchase of their 6.07 lakh MTs of paddy.

He said the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 2.43 lakh MTs of paddy and the farmers had been given a sum of Rs l58.24 crore while Confed had disbursed Rs 115.52 crore for purchasing 1.77 lakh MTs of paddy. Similarly, Haryana Warehousing Corporation paid Rs 67.09 crore for the purchase of 1.03 lakh MTs of paddy.

Likewise FCI also paid Rs 7.21 crore for the purchase of 0.11 lakh MTs of paddy.

He said the government had arranged cash credit limit to the tune of Rs 1000 crore during the current kharif season.
