CM promises white paper on regional bias against Kangra

Shimla, Nov 29 (UNI) Reiterating his government's resolve for balanced development of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said he will soon release a white paper on the issue of discrimination against lower areas of the state to bring the truth out.

''The state government will soon come out with a white paper on discrimination against Kangra district, putting an end to the issue once and for all,'' he said at a press conference here.

Mr Singh criticized the BJP for raising the issue again and again to remain in news and create a wedge between the people of the state.

''Things are right when they are in power, but the moment they are out, they start raising the issue of discrimination with lower areas of the state,'' he said.

He said charges of discrimination with the lower areas of the state were being made since state's first chief minister Y S Parmar's, tenure.

''It is nothing more than a pressure tactic. The white paper on the issue will bring the truth out,'' he added.

The Chief Minister also called upon senior state government officials to work with dedication to implement the state government's policy.

''The officials should not to air their grouse against other officials in public or media and report the matter to the government to resolve the issue,'' he added.
