CM inaugurates new centre of Metro Cash and Carry in city
Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today inaugurated the new distribution centre of METRO Cash and Carry India in the city here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy appreciated the company's efforts towards training farmers and creating employment opportunities not only in urban areas but also in rural areas in the state.
He urged the management of METRO to promote agri-products grown in the state and also welcomed more investments of the company in the state.
Metro Cash and Carry Managing Director Harsh Bahadur said the company's success in Bangalore had proved the Cash and Carry business model was well accepted by the customer and was especially beneficial for the smaller players in the market.
He said the company was keen to expand quickly across the country and the launch of the Hyderabad centre was the first step in this direction.
The company would open several distribution centres in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam later, he added.
