AFI names athletics contingent, Anju to reach Doha on Dec 3
New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) Star long jumper Anju Bobby George and runner Pinki Pramanik will spearhead the country's challenge as India today announced a 43-member contingent for the athletics competitions of the 15th Asian Games at Doha.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) said in a release that 21 men and 22 women athletes would form the contingent at Doha.
AFI also informed that the trials for the 4x100m relay would be conducted tomorrow.
Anju will reach Doha on December 3, while 13 athletes, who are training in Muscat, would reach the Asian Games venue on December 2, the AFI release said.
Middle and long distance runners, who are sweating it out in the Bangalore camp, would leave for Doha on December 6.
