120 houses to give way for Hubli airport upgradation

Dharwad, Nov 29 (UNI) District Deputy Commissioner M S Shreekar today assured the representatives of residents of areas near the Hubli airport that only 120 residential buildings will be acquired for the upgradation of the airport.

Addressing a meeting here, he said approval had been received from the Government to increase the area of acquisition from 440 acres to 650 acres, but the number of houses coming under it would not be more than 120.

Suggesting that the residents form a committee to cooperate with the survey committee, which would identify the houses, he said a separate meeting would be held with the owners of these houses.
