Western Air Command Commanders' Conference 2006 Opens
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force has commenced a review of its operations, maintenance and administrative activities at the Station Commanders' Conference 2006 underway here.
The five-day Conference -- till December 1 -- is being attended by Commanders of all the IAF bases in the WAC -- considered the premier fighting arm of the country's air defence.
Air Officer Commanding-in-=Chief of WAC Air Marshal AK Singh led the review at the Conference which kicked off yesterday while Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi addressed the Commanders on various disciplines.
ACM Tyagi also awarded trophies to various Air Force Stations within the Command. Air Force Station Ambala (7 Wing Air Force) clinched the Best station over all Trophy 'The pride of Western Air Command' which was received by Air Commodore HH Patel, Air Officer Commanding of the Air Force Station.
The Annual Station Commanders' Conference also gives an opportunity to the field Commanders to interact with the AOC-in-C, Principal Staff Officers and Command staff officers of Western Air Command.
This forum is also used by the AOC-in-C to familiarise all Commanders with future plans and strategies of the Indian Air Force.
Besides discussing Operational and Professional matters, the conference will also review welfare activities -- particularly activities of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association.
