Vaughan quietly confident of playing 4th Ashes Test
London, Nov 28 (UNI) Michael Vaughan continues to hang onto the scene on his wonky knees and England's regular captain said he is ''quietly confident'' of making himself available for the fourth Ashes Test against Australia.
Vaughan, who has not played Test cricket for a year due to the knee injury, returns to competitive cricket tomorrow when he plays for an England Academy XI against Western Australia seconds in Perth.
Vaughan, England's Ashes-winning captain, was present at the first Test in Brisbane, where he was seen in the fielding session with a tennis ball and had some batting practice before he left for Perth after the match to continue his rehabilitation on Australia's west coast.
''How my knee reacts to cricket and games, and spending a day in the field, only time will tell,'' he was quoted as saying by The Guardian.
''But so far the rehab has gone really well and I'm quietly confident that within a month or so I would be available for selection,'' Vaughan added.
The fourth Test in Melbourne will begin on December 26.
