Nasser Hussain to lead Indian rugby squad at Doha Asian Games
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Nasser Hussain will lead a 12-member Indian Rugby Team at the Asian Games in Doha, according to information received from the Indian Rugby Football Union.
Six players are from Mumbai, while three are from the Indian Army, one each from Delhi Bangalore and Kolkata. The rugby competition will be held on December 10 and 11 and the countries participating are Japan, Korea, China, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Thailand, Qatar and India.
There are 18 member countries of Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), of which only 9 countries have qualified for the Asian Games.
Indian squad: Nasser Hussain (Captain); Mufaddal Indorelwala, Hrishikesh Pendse, Pritom Roy (all Bombay Gymkhana); Ganesh Sawant, Shailesh Devrukhkar (both Maharashtra State Police); Bilkash Jena; Sendil Kumar, Sujai Lama (all Indian Army); Amit Lochab (Delhi Club); Puneet Krishnamoorty (Bangalore Club); Sheikh Saidul, Bikash Mondal (standby, both Future Hope, Kolkatta).
