Iran looks at India for investment in energy and other sectors
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Iran is looking at India for investments in sectors like oil and gas after India has anchored its base in the energy sector in the Gulf country.
Addressing a business meeting, which was held by the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) here today, the Deputy for Energy in the President's Office in Iran, Mr Maravi said ''We already have various collaborations with a number of companies of the world and we would also like to have same kind of co-operation in India too.'' ''We are interested in collaboration, R&D, technology transfers, application of nano technology for petrochemicals, oil and gas and new technology for gas storage and corrosion control process,'' he added.
Mr Maravi is leading a three-member delegation from Iran to woo Indian industry to invest there. Replying to a media query, he expressed his satisfaction over the progress on the proposed Indo-Iran gas pipeline project.
Later talking to UNI on the sidelines of the function, AIAI president Vijay Kalantri said ''Iranian President's office is eyeing at India to explore possibilities of joint ventures in fields like oil, gas and energy.'' The delegation held its meetings with officials of Essar and Reliance companies this morning, he informed.
M S Arora, COO of MAN Industries (India) Ltd, which had sponsored today's event, said ''We are the regular suppliers of large diameter steel pipes to the country for five years now and we've not faced any problem while conducting our business there''.
