FKCCI signs MoU with Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Bangalore, Nov 28 (UNI) Aimed at increasing investment and trade between Japan and Karnataka state, Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Japan.
The agreement envisages development of trade and investment between the two regions. A FKCCI team would also visit the Japanese state early next year. The MoU would enable better business ties between the members of the two chambers, FKCCI President R C Purohit said after signing the MoU.
The state had signed MoUs with 32 chambers belonging to 20 different countries so far. However, Fukuoka was the first Japanese Chamber to sign a MoU with FKCCI. Apart from the Karnataka Department of IT and BT, about 60 IT companies would make a presentation to the 20-member business delegation which had come from Fukuoka, he said.
Fukuoka Government Executive Director for International Business Development, Junichiro Nakashima said, the MoU would take to the next level the already existing close ties between Japan and India.
The Fukuoka government was actively involved Union and several state government to promote trade and industry, he said.
The state government had invited IT companies from the city to visit Fukuoka during February next year, Mr Nakashima, who was also the head of the business delegation added.
