Bank of India launches online trading of shares "Star Share Trade"
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) The public sector Bank of India (BoI) today launched online trading of shares christened ''Star Share Trade'' in a tie-up arrangement with Asit C Mehta Investment Intermediaries Ltd (ACMIIL), a SEBI registered corporate member of both National Stock Exchange(NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE).
Addressing a news conference here today, BoI chairman and managing director M Balachandran said after running the pilot phase of the product for a thorough checking for a fortnight, the Bank has now launched Online Trading of Shares with additional sophisticated features.
The product, launched by the Bank, offers unique facility to leverage bank account by allowing investors to trade up to 4 times the balance available in the bank account, said an official release.
Also, it integrates customers' banking and demat accounts with trading account.
It is available to clients of more than 1,000 branches of the Bank, which are enabled on CBS platform.
The product has several attractive features like plain vanilla sale and purchase of shares, besides intra-day trading and 'Buy Today Sell Tomorrow', it added.
