Six arrested for betting on India-S Africa cricket match
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested six persons, in two different raids, in connection with illegal betting on yesterday's one dayer between India and South Africa.
Three persons - Harsh, Hemand and Gaurav - were arrested by personnel of the crime branch from Roshanara Road at Subji Mandi in the Old Delhi area yesterday when they were indulging in betting on the cricket match, police said.
Police said bets worth over Rs 10 lakh had already been placed when the three were apprehended.
Three other persons - Rajat Sharma, Raj Kumar Seth and Sushil Chopra - were arrested from C R Park yesterday in a separate raid by the anti-robbery cell of the crime branch when they were indulging in betting on the India-South Africa Cricket match.
At the time of the arrest, the accused had booked satta of Rs 32 lakh from all over Delhi.
