Saina concentrating on speed and endurance ahead of Asian Games

Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) India's young rising badminton star Saina Nehwal today said that she was concentrating on improving her speed and endurance ahead of the Doha Asian Games which will be held from December 1 to 15.

Saina was speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function where it was announced that Qatar Airways would be the official partner of Team India for the Asian Games.

Saina, the recent winner of the Philippine Open, said her main challenge would come from the Chinese and Japanese girls and she was working hard to be in peak fitness for the Games.

She further said that these two weeks, which she has got for the preparation, would be enough and she is concentrating on developing her speed and endurance as the 21-point games are short of 15 to 20 minutes each and one has to be in peak physical fitness to challenge the top players.

The 17-year-old Hyderabadi said that she is happy with the sponsorship she has got for the moment. Anyway at the moment all my energies are concentrated on winning a medal at the Asian Games for the country.

''The sponsorship or lack of it, I will think on it after the Games are over,'' she added.
