Justice Jain New CJ Of Punjab

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) The appointment of Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and three Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court by President A P J Abdul Kalam was announced today.

Delhi High Court Judge Vijender Kumar Jain has been appointed Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, an announcement said.

His appointment will take effect from the day he assumes charge of his office, the announcement said.

The appointments of Dev Darshan Sud, Vinod Kumar Ahuja and Surinder Singh Thakur as Himachal Pradesh High Court Judges was announced by a second communique.

The appointments in that order of seniority will take effect from the day each Judge assumes charge of his respective office.
