First buyer-seller meet on HP's fruit industry from Nov 29

Shimla, Nov 27 (UNI) The Indian Society of Agri-business Professionals (ISAP) is organising the first ever buyer-seller meet and conference on Himachal Pradesh's fruit industry here on Wednesday, a spokesman today said.

The two-day meet would discuss issue like scientific cultivation of fruits, improvement in productivity, adherence to international quality standards, post harvest infrastructure facilities and strengthening of national and international markets to tap its full potential.

The spokesman said the buyer-seller meet would also promote market linkages between the buyers and producers directly besides facilitating buyers in getting best quality of fruit and processed products at remunerative prices.

The meet would call upon the producers to improve their grading techniques by adopting modern technology, efficient transportation and construction of cold storages, market promotion through branding and better advertising for promoting exports, he said.

Fruit industry stakeholders from across the country, fruit growers, cooperative associations, exporters, associations, exporters, traders NGOs and importers from UAE were likely to participate in the meet, he added.
