Court summons Prabhu Chawla in defamation suit by UP minister

Pratapgarh, Nov 27 (UNI) A local court has summoned publisher and editor of 'India Today' Prabhu Chawla and the news magazine's Lucknow correspondent Subhash Mishra in a defamation suit filed by Uttar Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya.

On November 24, Pratapgarh Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ram Bahadur Singh Maurya issued notices to Mr Chawla and Mr Mishra to appear personally before the court on December 2.

District standing counsel Shachindra Pratap Singh said here today Raja Bhaiyya had filed a defamation suit against a news item published in the popular magazine in November last year.
