BHEL bags power plant order from Hindustan Zinc
New Delhi, Nov 27: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has bagged a Rs 129 crore order from Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) to build a captive power plant at Jawar Mines in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
BHEL's scope of work in the project envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, erection, testing and commissioning of the power plant, a BHEL spokesman told UNI today.
Major equipment to be supplied includes 80 MW steam turbine generator and 320 TPH pulverised fuel fired boilers with state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation and all associated auxiliaries.
While the steam turbine generator will be manufactured at BHEL's Hyderabad plant, the boiler will be build at its Trichy plant.
BHEL's Electronics Division, Bangalore will supply the control system, and the auxiliaries will be supplied by its Ranipet plant.
The erection and commissioning of the equipment will be carried out by the company's power sector-- Western Region, Nagpur.
BHEL has earlier executed a turnkey order for two units of 77 MW each at HZL's Chanderia lead zinc smelter plant in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
The synchronisation of the units by BHEL in a very tight schedule has ensured supply of 154 MW of continuous power to the lead zinc smelter, which is highly cost-effective for the customer, ultimately making the end product more profitable, the spokesman said.
