100th birth anniversary of Harivansh Rai Bachchan celebrated

Pratapgarh, Nov 27 (UNI) The birth centenary of eminent poet the late Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan -- remembered for his immortal creation 'Madhushala' -- was celebrated at his native village Babupatti here today.

To mark the occasion, a grand 'Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Sammelan' was inaugurated by famous poet Padma Shri Gopal Das Neeraj, where Samajwadi Party youth wing national president and MP Akhilesh Singh Yadav was the chief guest.

Meanwhile, Amitabh accompanied by family members and Aishwarya Rai visited the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi to pray for the departed soul.
