Noted filmmaker made to wait for hours at IFFI
Panaji, Nov 26 (UNI) Incidents like this are the most unexpected at an event of international repute but they do take place and this time it was none other than the IFFI, already amid controversies, playing the host.
Much to his dismay, one of the most prolific and well known filmmakers from Kerala T V Chandran had to wait for hours today to participate in the International Film Festival of India(IFFI) here as his delegate's pass was not ready owing to the lack of photograph.
Mr Chandran's film Aadum Kothu has been included in the Indian Panorama section of the festival and will be screened tomorrow.
''It is for the eighth time that my film has has found place in the IFFI, and the authorities don't have my photograph,'' Mr Chandran told UNI sarcastically.
''They could find Shashi Kapur's photo of his youth in black and white and they could not get mine without myself supplying to them, '' he said adding that he was disappointed at the way things were being managed here.
''Goa is not a place for holding film festivals, it may be great place for another thing, but it is not suited for international festivals,'' said Mr Chandran.
Chandra's film Alicinte Anveshanangal was the official Indian entry at the Locarnofilm festival. Since then he has won several major national and state level awards for most of his works which have also been screened at major international festivals.
Mr Chandra's entry, this time around, in the Indian Panorama section of the IFFI is in Tamil.
