Nitish announces setting up of IIM-like Institute in Patna

Ahmedabad, Nov 26 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said a management institute on the lines of the IIMs will come up in Patna by next year.

He said hectic parleys were held with Dr Bakul Dholakia, Director of IIM-A on the issue and he has asked for his cooperation in setting it up.

Mr Kumar made this announcement, while delivering a lecture on the ''The Challenges and Opportunities in Transforming Bihar'' at the IIM-A here.

Later talking to reporters, he said the institute will be of the national level and its sessions will begin by the next academic year.

When asked, if it will be named IIM-Patna, he said, ''The name can be anything, but it will be IIM level.'' When Prof Dholakia was queried on the issue, he said, ''We are in talks and will pursue it.'' UNI MMG MAZ SAM RN2004
