Lover climbs water tank to marry minor girl

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 26 (UNI) A man climbed atop a water tank and threatened to jump if he was not allowed to marry a girl residing near his house in the town today.

On information police rushed to the spot along with the girl and persuaded Bapi Reddy not to take the extreme step, following which he got down from the tank after two hours.

Later, police talked to both of them to ascertain the fact.

According to police, Reddy was harrasing the minor girl for the last two years. The girl had never reciprocated his love and also lodged a complaint with local police against him.

Police took Reddy into custody and registered cases for attempting suicide and harrasing a minor girl.
