Sonia Gandhi arrives in Tirupati on three-hrs visit

Tirupati, Nov 25 (UNI) UPA Chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi arrived at Renigunta airport by a special flight from New Delhi on a three-hour visit to Tirupati and Tirumala here today.

Ms Gandhi was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Health Panabaka Lakshmi.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y ScRajasekhar Reddy, AICC Secretary Digvijay Singh and other Congress MPs received her at the airport.

Later, Ms Gandhi left for Tarakarama Stadium, where she would inaugurate the annual three-day conference of Akhil Bharat Rachanatmak Samaj (ABRS).

She would also participate in the silver jubilee function of Rashtriya Seva Samiti, a voluntary organisation.

Before returning to New Delhi, Ms Gandhi would offer worship at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.
