Govt to support police sportsperson for Commonwealth games: Jaiswal

New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) The Government is committed to providing full support to police sportspersons and teams which will participate in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said today.

''The police force has in the past produced sportspersons of international repute, and this tradition should continue,'' Mr Jaiswal said after inaugurating the 55th All India Police Volleyball, Basketball, Handball and Kabaddi Championship here.

Over 1,400 participants of 27 teams of Central and State Police Organisations are vying for top honours at the Championship.
