Bombay Goods Transport Association ask to reduce sales tax
Mumbai, Nov 25 (UNI) The Bombay Goods Transport Association has requested the Maharashtra Government to further reduce the sales tax to 20 per cent.
In a statement, the Association President Vijay Kumar Goyal said the state government has taken a long time to reduce the sales tax by 5 per cent. However, the sales tax was not reduced as expected and required, he said.
This negligible reduction of 20 per cent more will not effect the prevailing freight charges as the long distance vehicle will still continue to fill up their diesel outside Maharashtra as the rates here are still higher than the neighbouring states, he added.
