World famous Mumbai 'Dabbawallahs' to address IIM-K seminar
Kozhikode, Nov 24 (UNI) Acclaimed for accuracy and precision in delivering large quantity of tiffin boxes in the megapolis everyday, the famous Mumbai 'dabbawallahs' will tomorrow address a seminar organised by Indian Institute of Management (Kozhikode) here.
Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Suppliers Association (The Mumbai Dabbawallahs) President Raghu Megde and Secretary Gangaram Talekar will address the 2006 edition of its annual operations seminar 'Opus', an IIM-K release said yesterday.
They would deliberate in detail about the efficiency of supplying about two lakh tiffin boxes to schools, colleges and offices spread across the megapolis, the release said.
The other speakers for the two-day seminar titled ''India Inc- From Sustenance to Operational Excellence,'' will be Accenture Vice-President Rakesh Rajora, ECS Chief Consultant Ravind Mithe, Logistic Group's Syed Miebach, Chainalytics Manager Pradeep Jadhav and Bristlecone Consulting's Sameer Shukla.
According to a study by Forbes Magazine, which selected the Mumbai 'dabbawallahs' as an example of Six Sigma performers, the Mumbai 'dabbawallahs' make just one error in every 16 million transactions.
