New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) Municipal Corporation of Delhi's Standing Committee Chairman Jai Kishan Sharma today said the corporation is turning back to Sulabh International to help run 1,450 community toilet complexes in the Capital.

In order to provide ultra-modern toilet facilities to the citizens, MCD had initiated process of entrusting the work of running 1,450 community toilet complexes to Sulabh, which had the experience of running such complexes in many countries across the globe, a statement said quoting Mr Sharma.

It was ensured that the company was technically and financially competent to handle the work before it was awarded the job, he added.

The company would be given advertisement rights in lieu of maintenance of these complexes, Mr Sharma said.

The deicision would benefit large population as the majority of these toilets were situated in vicinity of large commercial complexes, markets and JJ clusters, he said.

''It will be ensured that the users are provided ultra-modern facilities with minimum charges -- one rupee in areas inhabited by weaker sections of society and two rupees in CTCs situated near commercial areas,'' he added.

The work was hitherto being entrusted to Sulabh International, from which the job had been taken away earlier after some alleged complaints.
