Nagpur, Nov 24 (UNI) A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for forming a joint venture (JV) company between the Maharashtra government and Government of India (GoI) to develop the proposed international cargo hub here will be signed by next month, said Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation (MADC) vice chairman and managing director R C Sinha here today.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of 'Destination Nagpur', a seminar on information technology, Mr Sinha said the JV company would be formed within two months from the signing of the MoU as all hurdles had been cleared.

To a query, he said all the issues that were delaying the MoU had been ''sorted out'' and that there were ''no problems now''.

The proposed company would be formed to develop the Multi-modal International Cargo and Passenger Hub at Nagpur (MIHAN), popularly known as the ''cargo hub''.

The Nagpur airport will be handed over to the JV company for development, he said, adding that the signing of the MoU has been delayed as the Ministry of Civil Aviation insisted on completing some development works at the airport before handing it over and later wanted the state government to accept responsibility for the employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) working there.

Replying to questions, Mr Sinha said Dell Corporation of the United States would set up a manufacturing facility at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which is a part of the proposed cargo hub project.

MADC would pay Rs 1.94 crore to the Railways today for construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in the cargo hub area, he added.
