Investments to increase in marine exports industry
Visakhapatnam, Nov 24 (UNI) In the next five years time, investments in marine exports industry in India would touch more than Rs 3,600 crore, according to Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) Chairman G Mohan Kumar.
Talking to mediapersons here today, he said the marine exports would touch Rs four billion by the end of current plan period from the present 1.6 billion.
He said the MPEDA would conduct a three-day exhibition on 'Aquaculture' in Chennai from January 11 to 13, 2007.
The main objective of the expo was to bring the stakeholders in marine and related industries under a single umbrella and evolve suitable strategies for the development and sustenance of aquaculture industries.
Seafood industries from Malaysia, Taiwan, China and Singapore would participate in the exhibition, he added.
