Do not intervene in the affairs of Tibet: Chinese Minister
Kathmandu, Nov 24 (UNI) The visiting Vice-minister of the Chinese Government, Liu Hongcai has said no foreign force should intervene in the internal affairs of Tibet.
''China has core interest in Tibet, foreign forces trying to play a role of splitting Tibet in the land of Nepal is unacceptable to China,'' The Himalayan Times quoted Hongcai as saying.
In reponse to the question about the US agreeing to take up to 5000 Tibetan refugees, he said that is not acceptable.
The Chinese Minister, who is in a visit of Nepal, made the remarks following the meeting with deputy prime minister and foreign minister KP Sharma Oli.
The Chinese community said there are about 20,000 Tibetans living in Nepal.
Three years ago, Nepal Government had closed the office of the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in Kathmandu.
