Triveni Engg manufactures 54MW gas turbine load gearbox

New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd (TEIL), engaged in the manufacturer of mechanical equipments, today said it has conducted full speed test on its 54 MW gas turbine load gearbox, at its Mysore facility.

''The development of 54 MW gas turbine gearbox is a market driven requirement to provide cost-effective solution with international technology (from Lufkin Inc US) coupled with local service and trouble shooting expertise,'' TEIL Corporate Vice President Tarun Sawhney said.

This development is against an order from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd, added Mr Sawhney.

It is the highest power gearbox manufactured and tested by any Indian engineering company and will serve as a replacement to a European Gearbox, he said.

The Gear Business Group is one of the leading suppliers of high speed and high power gearboxes with a capacity upto 70 MW and speeds in excess of 50, 000 rounds per minute (RPM).

Triveni offers replacement solutions to existing high speed gearboxes and has more than 500 gear replacements to its credit.

The company manufactures steam turbines through a facility in Bangalore and has an installed base of over 1800 turbines.
