RJD demands reservation for women on the basis of population

Patna, Nov 23(UNI) The RJD today demanded that women of Scheduled Caste(SC), Extremely Backwards and minorities should be accorded reservation on the basis of their population.

Talking to reporters here, Chairperson of women cell of Bihar unit of party, Prema Chaudhary welcomed the move to introduce the Women Reservation bill in Parliament and said that leader of the opposition in state assembly Rabri Devi had inspired many women in rural areas who later emerged as successful leaders in their respective fields.

She said that women cell of the party would soon initiate several measures to increase the representation of women in active politics.'' Women cell of the party would be strengthened and active workers would give organisational responsibilities '' she added.

Ms Chaudhary exhorted the party workers associated with the cell to keep a hawk's eye on the execution of the different welfare schemes sponsered by the government.
