Justice Shivaraj Patil appointed acting chief of NHRC

Bangalore, Nov 23 (UNI) National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) member Mr Justice Shivaraj V Patil will officiate as the Chairperson of NHRC with effect from November one.

A notification to this effect issued today said Mr Justice Patil would hold the post till the Chairman was appointed. He succeeded Mr Justice A S Anand.

Mr Justice Patil, a retired Supreme Court judge, had been a NHRC member since February last year, an official release here said.
