Athavale demands reservation in sports; ouster of Chappel
Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) After a string of poor performance by the Indian cricket team recently, Republican Party of India president Ramdas Athavale, MP, today demanded reservation in sports.
Mr Athavale maintained that SC, ST and OBC should be given reservation in the Indian team.
Speaking about yesterday's defeat at the hands of South Africa in Durban, Mr Athavale in a release issued here said that Indian team's coach Greg Chappel should be removed from his post.
Mr Athavale is a close acolyte of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, who heads the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
