TRS behind drama of seizure of cricket gears, cash: Congress

Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) Terming the seizure of cricket gears and cash allegedly meant for distribution to voters in Karimnagar as 'stage managed' by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Congress Leader G Muddu Krishnamma Naidu MLA today said the Congress had nothing to do with the incident.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party Office here, he alleged that the incident was a plot created by TRS leaders, including Siddipet MLA Harish Rao, a relative of TRS President Chandrasekhara Rao to malign the Congress.

He alleged the TRS and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had been making baseless allegations against the Congress because both feared losing the by-election to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency.

He alleged that TDP had distributed circket gears, cash and liquor to the voters in every elections during its nine-year rule in the state.

About the controversial Beedi Act, he said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and PCC President K Keshava Rao had already taken the issue with the Centre to find a solution to it.
